At SmartPhoto, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. This page explains what data can be deleted, what data cannot, and how to submit a deletion request.
Your Privacy Rights: We are committed to honoring your data deletion requests in compliance with applicable privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Store data safety requirements.
How to Request Data Deletion
To request deletion of your data, send an email to:
To help us locate your data, please include the following information in your email:
- Your SmartPhoto anonymous user identifier (UID) — you can find this in the app under Settings > Account.
- The email address you are contacting us from (if different from the one you use with the app).
- Optional: A brief reason for your deletion request (helps us improve).
Once we receive your request, we will verify your identity and process the deletion. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.
Data That Will Be Deleted
Upon successful verification and processing of your deletion request, the following data associated with your SmartPhoto account will be permanently deleted:
-
Firebase anonymous account: Your anonymous user identifier (UID) and all associated authentication records will be removed from Firebase Authentication.
-
Credit balance: Your current credit balance and all credit transaction history will be deleted from Firestore.
-
Purchase records: Your in-app purchase history, subscription state, and entitlement records (ad-free status, recovery codes) stored in Firestore will be deleted. Note: raw purchase tokens in the IAP ledger are hashed and not linked to your account after deletion.
-
AI generation history: Records of your AI-powered image generation tasks and associated metadata will be permanently removed.
-
Safety reports: Any content safety reports you submitted through the in-app reporting feature will be deleted.
Please note: Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered. Any remaining credits, active subscriptions, or purchased entitlements (including lifetime ad-free) will be lost and cannot be restored.
Data Not Affected by Deletion
The following data is not affected by your deletion request, either because it is managed by third parties outside our control or because it resides solely on your device:
-
Google Play purchase records: All purchase transactions are processed and recorded by Google Play Billing. These records are managed exclusively by Google and are subject to Google's own data retention policies. We cannot delete or modify Google Play transaction records.
-
Local device images: All photos and images stored on your device — including originals, edited copies, and AI-generated results you saved — remain entirely on your device. We have no access to them and cannot delete them. You may delete these files directly on your device.
-
AdMob data: Advertising data collected by Google AdMob (such as advertising ID and ad interaction data) is managed by Google under their own privacy policies. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Advertising).
-
Aggregated analytics: Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics that do not identify individual users may be retained for analytical purposes.
Processing Time
We will process your data deletion request within 30 days of receiving a valid, verified request. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
In most cases, deletion is processed within 5–10 business days. Complex cases requiring additional verification may take longer, but will not exceed 30 days as required by applicable privacy regulations.
What Happens After Deletion
- Your anonymous Firebase account will be removed, and you will no longer be able to access any previously associated data.
- The app will create a new anonymous identifier the next time you open it, starting with a fresh account.
- Any previously purchased credits, subscriptions, or entitlements will not carry over to the new account.
- You can continue using all local editing tools without interruption — these do not depend on any server-side account.
- If you had an active subscription, you should cancel it through Google Play Subscriptions to avoid future charges, as data deletion does not automatically cancel Google Play subscriptions.
