SmartPhoto ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully.
Our Commitment: SmartPhoto is designed with privacy in mind. All local editing tools process images entirely on your device. No personal data is required to use the App — no account creation, no login.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our services:
a. Device & Usage Information
- Device identifiers: Advertising ID (for ad personalization and analytics), device model, operating system version.
- Usage analytics: How you interact with the App (features used, session duration, crash reports) to help us improve performance and stability.
- Purchase records: Receipt tokens from Google Play Store when you purchase credit packs. We do not store payment card information — all transactions are handled by Google Play Billing.
b. Images
- Images processed using local tools: Not collected. Image processing for tools such as cropping, rotating, filters, and adjustments happens entirely on your device and never leaves it.
- Images processed using AI features: Temporarily uploaded to cloud servers (Alibaba Cloud Bailian) for AI model inference. See Section 3 for details.
c. Firebase Authentication Data
- When you make a purchase, we use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous (unauthenticated) user identifier. This identifier is used solely to associate your credit balance with your device. No personal identifiable information (email, name, phone number) is collected.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the App: Including processing AI-powered edits and managing your credit balance.
- To improve the App: Usage analytics help us understand how users interact with the App so we can enhance features and fix issues.
- To serve advertisements: Rewarded ads are displayed using Google AdMob, which may use your Advertising ID to serve relevant ads.
- To process purchases: Google Play Billing handles all payment transactions; we only verify purchase receipts.
- To comply with legal obligations: If required by applicable law or regulation.
3. Image Processing
Local Processing (On-Device)
All standard editing tools — including crop, rotate, adjust brightness/contrast, apply filters, and similar operations — process images entirely on your device. These images are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. The original and edited images remain solely on your device unless you explicitly choose to save or share them.
AI Processing (Cloud-Based)
AI-powered features (such as AI enhancement, object removal, or style transfer) require cloud-based processing. When you use these features:
- Your image is temporarily uploaded to Alibaba Cloud Bailian for inference.
- The image is processed and returned to your device.
- The image is deleted from cloud servers immediately after processing completes, and in any case within 24 hours.
- We do not use your images to train or improve AI models.
- We do not store, share, or sell your images.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display rewarded ads (for watermark removal). AdMob may collect device information and use your Advertising ID to deliver personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings.

Credit pack purchases are processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We never have access to your payment card information. We only receive a purchase receipt token to verify your purchase and update your in-app credit balance.

Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase Authentication for anonymous user identification and Firestore/Realtime Database to store your credit balance. Firebase may collect device and usage data as described in Google's privacy policy.

Alibaba Cloud (Bailian)
AI features use Alibaba Cloud Bailian for model inference. Images are uploaded for processing and deleted immediately after. Alibaba Cloud is contractually obligated not to use your data for any purpose other than providing the inference service.

5. Data Retention
- AI-processed images: Deleted from cloud servers immediately after processing, within 24 hours at most.
- Local images: Remain on your device. We have no access to them.
- Usage analytics: Retained for up to 13 months, after which they are aggregated or deleted.
- Firebase anonymous identifiers and credit balances: Retained until you request deletion or after 12 months of inactivity.
- Purchase records: Retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 5-7 years).
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- All data transmitted to cloud servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3.
- Firebase data is encrypted at rest by default.
- Alibaba Cloud data is encrypted during transmission and processing.
- We regularly review our data collection and storage practices.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request information about the data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data. Contact us and we will remove your Firebase anonymous identifier and associated credit data.
- Opt-out of ads: You can disable personalized advertising in your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Advertising).
- Withdraw consent: You can stop using the App at any time. Data collected up to that point will be handled in accordance with this policy.

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via other appropriate channels.
Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
